Kibu × DIY

A collaboration bringing together headphones, sound and making. We worked with DIY.ORG and Kibu to develop a custom colourway for the Creator Candy headphones, and helped bring the collaboration to life through the launch.

Alongside the headphones we designed and developed a suite of interactive sound tools for DIY.ORG. The AI Sound Lab gives kids playful ways to experiment, make music and explore sound through a collection of creative experiences.

Working closely with Kibu and their manufacturing partners, we supported the engineering and production of the Creator Candy edition. The colourway was adapted for FDM print-on-demand, with individual parts produced and assembled as orders came in.

From the initial files through production and assembly, we helped take the headphones from idea to finished product, ready to ship to creators around the world.

It was great to see kids around the world building and assembling their own Creator Candy headphones, with the launch gaining traction across social. Seeing the finished products out in the wild, and in use by the community, was a rewarding way to watch the collaboration come to life.
