Computational design treats the computer as a collaborator that can produce, test and refine options at a scale no hand can — encoding the logic of a design so that geometry, pattern, structure or behaviour emerge from rules. It spans parametric modelling, generative systems, simulation and, increasingly, machine learning, and it asks the designer to think in processes rather than pictures.
