Resin printing — SLA, DLP and MSLA are the main flavours — builds parts by selectively hardening a vat of photopolymer with a laser or projected UV image, layer by layer. It gives the finest detail and smoothest finish of any desktop process, at the cost of messy handling, brittle materials and parts that need washing and post-curing. It is the standard for appearance models, dental and jewellery work.
